Now we move on to one of my favorite science fiction novels, one that won both the Hugo and Nebula Awards for Best Novel in the same year (1984).

Written by David Brin, it’s part of his “Uplift” series, and, I believe, his best novel.

I will at times read a few chapters in one sitting since they’re so short: an average of 3-1/3 pages each!

So join the humans, dolphins, and one chimpanzee, as they fend off the lethal advances of the advanced galactic races.
