Moving on to another novel by David Brin. I’ve read several of his works over the years; and just recently I corresponded with him regarding my recording of Startide Rising. I told him that I’d like to read his most recent novel, The Ancient Ones. So, here we are!

The Ancient Ones is “a space comedy,” as Mr. Brin calls it. Complete with enthusiastic and exasperating humanoids on a space exploration mission with the narrator of the story. We start with the first two chapters preceded by a reading of the blurb on the back cover.

Prepare yourselves for the weirdest form of transport to a planet’s surface you’ve ever heard of!
